Abstract

Airports now serve millions of people who use air transport every year - they are symbols of mobility. Terminals are carefully constructed to enable the efficient movement of passengers, baggage and cargo to their destinations. To ensure the safety of these flows, while protecting the airplanes, airports are equipped with security control measures. Airport terminals are spaces under constant surveillance.

The author draws attention to the problem of security theater in civil aviation, which means the use of excessive safety control measures in relation to the achieved effects. Moreover, there is a fine line between the use and abuse of security measures, as in the case of privacy breaches (body scanners) and citizen surveillance. In addition, there is the problem of treating ordinary citizens as terrorists.

The aim of the article is to draw attention to the problem of extensive security procedures intended to ensure passenger safety, which do not necessarily correspond to the changing reality. The research problem of the article was expressed in the question: what technologies should be used in airports to achieve a compromise between excessive technical measures and travel comfort and passengers' sense of security?

The article uses theoretical research methods such as analysis and synthesis
